Gary Murrin was born in St.John's, Newfoundland. His interest in cosplay began in 2006 when he participated in the Mardi Gras costume event on George Street. That night he dressed as an Indiana Jones action figure and won not only second place but the crowd's attention. It was after this event that his love of cosplay evolved. Gary has used various mediums in the past including cardboard, Rubbermaid trash containers, and paper mache, but has found his current medium of EVA Closed Cell Foam to be the most versatile. His interest in cosplay was further developed when he attended his first Sci-Fi on the Rock. Cosplaying has never felt more satisfying then at this annual amalgamation of all things geeky. Gary participated in the costume contest in 2011 where he won both 1st and 3rd place. His cosplaying motto is "Go big or go home" and this is certainly true with the physically large characters he creates. Outside the costume, Gary is quiet and often shy and uses cosplay as a tool to come out of his shell. His other interests include prop making, fantasy, steampunk, and all forms of science fiction.
